The Oak Lawn, Illinois, and Chicago communities are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Patrick Michael Noonan, a beloved Brother Rice High School student whose life was tragically cut short following a fatal car accident. His unexpected passing has left his family, friends, classmates, teachers, and the broader community grieving the loss of a remarkable young man with a bright future.
Patrick was widely admired for his kind heart, welcoming spirit, and genuine compassion. Those who knew him remember a teenager whose infectious smile, positive attitude, and thoughtful nature made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Whether in the classroom, among friends, or within his community, Patrick had a unique ability to make others feel valued and appreciated.
A lifelong resident of the Chicago area and a member of the Brother Rice High School family, Patrick embraced school life with enthusiasm and integrity. His friendships, dedication, and character earned him the respect of classmates and faculty alike, and his passing has deeply affected the entire school community.
According to his family, Patrick was the cherished son of Jim and Barbara (née Schoenecker) Noonan and the loving brother of Jimmy and Ella. He was the treasured grandson of Maureen and the late Jim Noonan, as well as Mike and Noreen Schoenecker. He is also lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends who were blessed to share in his life.
Beyond his family and school, Patrick will be remembered for the joy he brought to others through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. Friends recall someone who was always willing to offer encouragement, share a laugh, or lend a helping hand. His compassionate spirit and genuine concern for others created friendships that will endure long after his passing.
As loved ones mourn this unimaginable loss, they are also celebrating a life that, though far too short, was filled with love, meaningful relationships, and countless treasured memories. Patrick’s legacy will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the example of kindness he set for those around him.
In honor of Patrick’s memory, his family has requested that memorial contributions be made to The MuSic Movement, supporting a cause that held special significance to them in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 10621 S. Kedvale Avenue, Oak Lawn, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will follow on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, with interment afterward at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
